Twenty-one years!

Kamar, my oldest Egyptian Arabian horse, is 25 years old this year. My mother bought Kamar for me when Kamar was 4 years old. So Kamar has been my best friend for 21 years! Besides my mother, this is the longest loving relationship I have ever had.

Untied

I am so amazed at Zum! I put on all his shipping boots and I never even had to tie him to something to keep him still! He stood perfectly still as I put each boot on!

Easy

I have worked with Zum a lot, putting on and taking off his shipping boots over and over. Because of my consistency over the course of months, now it is easy!

Boots

Zum needs to learn to stand still while I put on and take off his shipping boots. These boots are helpful when Zum is traveling in a trailer. The boots keep his legs from getting scratched during the loading and unloading process. Shipping boots add extra safety to the horse and his legs while in a trailer.

Brave

I am so proud of Zum! He bravely approaches the umbrella wherever I hold it. I praise him often for every little bit of bravery and good work. With my encouragement and praise, I know more good work will follow.

Umbrella

Zum has never seen an umbrella. He is fascinated by how it swells open! He wants to reach as high as he can to touch it with his mouth!

Fun

All horses repeat rewarded performance. So when Zum is doing what I want, he is rewarded with fun! Zum’s idea of fun is going on a trail ride with his best buddy, Kamar!

Stand

Teaching Zum that he has to stand still is the best tool I have. I provide him with a safe place to stand. Zum looks forward to his times of rest as relaxation is also his reward for doing a good job!
